Micron adds another National Championship!
The Micron equipped Honda CBR-600RR of Steve Crevier won this afternoon's 600 Sport Bike final at Atlantic Motorsport Park, clinching the championship in the process.
Crevier grabbed the lead on his Micron powered Diablo Honda CBR600RR at the start of the 16-lap final around the 1.6-mile circuit and controlled most of the race from the front. Chris Peris was Crevier's only real threat when he tried to pass the series veteran in the early laps.
However, Crevier proved why he is a champion, gapping the younger Topline Printing Yamaha rider who later in the race lost second place to Clint McBain. McBain put his Team Suzuki Blackfoot Racing machine past Peris with four laps to go and held the position to the finish. Peris completed the podium, following McBain to the line for third.
With a perfect points scoring weekend for Crevier, the Honda rider secured his fourth 600 class title with one round remaining. Crevier won his last 600 Sport Bike championship in 2001, also on a Honda.
With one round at Shannonville remaining, Crevier sits at the top of the championship standings with his untouchable 324 points. McBain has 267 points in second ahead of Peris' third place 265 points.
Congratulations to Steve and the Diablo Team from everybody at Micron, complete domination of the 600 Supersport class has its sweet rewards!
