Ryan Farquhar has won the Isle of Man TT Supersport 600 race aboard his Micron equipped MSS Discovery Kawasaki ZX-6RR. In near perfect weather conditions he lived up to his performance in practice, extending his lead over the five-lap race to claim victory 14 seconds ahead of second place man Jason Griffiths.
"That felt really good," said Ryan as he got off the bike. "The first pit-board I saw was at the Bungalow and it said I had a four second lead. As the race went on it went up to 38 seconds - so I backed off a bit to give the bike an easier time. But I had to go for it again on the last lap because I'd backed off a bit too much."
"I'm really happy for MSS Discovery. I gave Kawasaki their first win for 20 years in the production class last year. This year, through MSS Discovery, I've given Kawasaki their first victory in the Junior Supersport (600cc Supersport) - and that's quite special."
Shortly after the finish team Manager Nick Morgan said, "I'm absolutely elated - really pleased for the team who have worked so hard after Monday's disappointment (when the bike broke while in the lead!). This is only the second time we've worked with Ryan and I can't express what a delight it's been. He's certainly one of the most professional, dedicated and above all likeable riders I've worked with. Thanks to everyone who's helped us achieve this win."
